Hi, I’m Osei Poku.

I’m a craftsperson currently focused on building software at Shortcut. I work with a small team of engineers, designers to make Shortcut better.

I started off as a software engineer working backend team and after a 2 1/2 year stint as an engineering manager, I transitioned back to the software engineer role.

I most code in Clojure but I spend most of my time thinking about scalable, maintainable architectures. We use Datomic as our primary database but we have started using Postgresql for some newer projects.

Before Shortcut, I worked at Chegg in a variety of positions. I started there as an iOS engineer, then moved the backend team (Python/Django) and eventually ended up doing some “DevOps” there.

Before Chegg, I worked for a mobile gaming company called MIR Partners (aka PennyPop, WRKSHP). I worked on both iOS and Android versions of Battlecamp.
